The doors of the Projection Room will be open wide for people to come and meet recent arts graduate, Jake Cooper, whose work is influenced by traditional craft and design with a contemporary appeal. He is a multimedia artist and creator of sculptural light installations inspired by geometry, light, movement and perspective.
During Jake’s residency ‘Reimagining Distortion’, he will be expanding his most recent work and research in the Japanese craft of ‘Akari’ - light sculptures created from paper and bamboo.
The Paignton Picture House will directly inform and inspire the forms he plans to create with the ‘Akari’ technique.
Come along to Jake’s Akari Light Installation Open View on 8th February between 6 and 8pm.
