‘Through the Moving Image’ is a new monthly film gathering in association with the English Riviera Film Festival and Devon and Cornwall Film. This October we are celebrating film making in Torbay and Devon - with screening of short films from Devon based film producers made in the local area. This is an opportunity to come and enjoy film as well as meet and network with South west film producers.
Rolling Shorts. Drop in between 2.30 - 5.30pm to enjoy a an hour loop of short films and animations at 2.30/3.30/4.30pm. Parental guidance.
Then, from 6.30 - 7.30pm John Tomkins welcomes Lee Morgan, Editor of Devon And Cornwall Film, who interviews the team at the Award Winning Baobab Theatre and film company about their new feature film ‘Last Orders’ with a showing of their Paignton filmed short film "made out of meat". Over 15
Against a backdrop of a national catastrophe two characters find themselves in a landscape of desolation and deadly poison. Wrestling with broken sleeping bags, bad jokes (what’s funny about syphilis?) and fragmented memories of personal tragedy and guilt; pursued by the enveloping tendrils of an ever encroaching mist - can they trust each other enough to make an escape before they descend into madness?

The Projection Room is a new cultural space on Torbay Road made possible by Paignton Picture House Trust - a space to find out more about the restoration of the magnificent Paignton Picture House, their fundraising appeal, creative and cultural activities and more. This welcoming space is wheelchair accessible, with toilet facilities on site.
