Make an audio greeting card

  • The Projection Room 11 Torbay Road Paignton, England, TQ4 6AA United Kingdom (map)

We're excited to be working with Sound Communities on the 2nd of these brilliant workshops to make a personal ‘audio card’. These are personalised greeting cards that when you open them will play your personal story or message that Sound Communities will record.

Create an audio card of your Paignton memories and learn new digital skills at the same time. Like the cards you get with a birthday greeting, but this time with your story inside! You could record a memory in a card to send to a friend or family member, to cherish a memory you have with them or a special audio card for someone in your family.

This is a unique opportunity to record your own voice message or make a sound greeting card. We are so full of stories, here’s some ideas of a story you could bring. Take a picture of an old photo you don’t have a digital copy of and talk about when it was taken or who’s in it? Take a picture of a piece of jewellery, like an old ring that’s belonged to someone before, then talk about where it came from?

This is a great chance to learn more about digital media, whilst hearing local stories and making your own audio story card to keep. Open to all - no experience needed. Especially intended for adults who want to improve their use of technology. Develop new digital skills and the confidence to use them! Bring your smart phone if you have one.

Booking: Book in advance, stay for the duration

The Projection Room is a new cultural space on Torbay Road made possible by Paignton Picture House Trust - a space to find out more about the restoration of the magnificent Paignton Picture House, their fundraising appeal, creative and cultural activities and more. This welcoming space is wheelchair accessible, with toilet facilities on site.
