Paignton Heritage Society is a local group of people working to preserve the History of the town. They offer Guided Tours of Kirkham House in Paignton every Sunday through July and August between 1pm and 4pm.
Kirkham House is a Medieval House with a Tudor extension. It has many original Medieval features including the cross passage, wooden screen and fireplaces which date from the period. The property is owned and maintained by English Heritage. Following a tour of the House, a visit to the Clink, Paignton’s first prison and to the Bishops/Coverdale Tower can be arranged.
