Walking-Wheeling-Writing Workshop

  • The Projection Room 11 Torbay Road, Paignton (map)

Join Zo outside for a walking-writing-workshop. We will walk and stop and Zo will guide you through a series of prompts and exercises along the way. We will explore our connections, memories, and feelings about the local area, and draw creative inspiration from what we encounter.

This workshop is open to those using wheelchairs who would like to wheel and write (see details below on distance and terrain). Bring a notebook and pencil, or other preferred (and portable!) writing tools.

We will have opportunities to share what we have written with the group, though there is never any obligation to do so. No experience is necessary. All Zo's workshops are LGBT+ safe and neurodivergent friendly spaces.

Who is it for? This workshop is designed for anyone with an interest in writing outdoors. What can I expect? A safe, encouraging space where you will be guided through creative writing prompts at stopping points throughout the walk/wheel.

What is the walk/wheel like? Terrain will be pavement/tarmac and will be level for the most part, with gentle inclines and some opportunity to get onto and write on the beach for those who can/want to. We will meet at the Projection Room, which is an open-plan, wheelchair accessible space with toilet facilities onsite.

What shall I bring? Bring what you need to write with (eg notebook and pencil) and an open mind. Please dress appropriately for the walk and weather - especially when it comes to footwear, layers, and sun protection. (We’ll be outside, even in the rain, unless we have a storm or weather warning)Bring a bottle of water.

This workshop has limited spaces, so please book in advance using the link below. You will need to be able to attend for the full session.
