Never Look Straight At The Sun - drop in day

All are welcome to drop in with artist Monica-Shanta’s experiments on film with light, projection and shadow making.

The Projection Room will have a shadow screen in place for you to experiment with making shadows with objects and body shapes - safe in the knowledge that you won’t be recognised on film! Feel free to come in and talk to Monica-Shanta about her work or get involved yourself.

As Wide Open’s artist in residence for November, Monica-Shanta is experimenting with film, light, and movement to create a short moving image film. The artist playfully explores the visual possibilities offered by the many ways in which a source of light illuminates our world and indirectly reveals itself to us - but we can ‘Never Look Straight At The Sun’.

Come and see the artist’s work in progress film on 29th November 6.30-8.30pm as part of Monica-Shanta’s final Open View event. Find out more here.
