Community Weaving Workshop

Meet Laura Segan, our Artist in Residence for May, and add to a collaborative community weaving about what nature means to the people of Paignton.

Laura will welcoming people to join the group weaving at the Liberal Club between 11am and 3pm - drop in to say hello or stay all day!

Laura will have other pieces of her colourful artwork on display alongside new work that she’s made during her nature-themed residency with us.  She’s experimenting with the natural resources that Paignton has to offer to create a playful and experimentative exploration of nature here. 

Laura Segan is a visual artist, working primarily in textiles and photography. She lives and works in Devon, UK. Her work focuses on the connection between mental health and creativity, exploring the use of traditional crafts in contemporary fine art. Her work draws out narratives on connection with nature, exploration of self, mental health, creativity and life stories. You can find out more about her work on her website here.

No booking required, just turn up. All welcome, but less suitable for the very young.
