In 2023 and 2024 Wide Open Paignton has worked with some amazing local creatives on indoor and outdoor performance, exhibitions, film, workshops, dance, comedy, talks and music. In November and December local creatives are invited to get together to network, share experiences and invite collaborations.
The focus for November’s gathering is about how the arts and creativity can work with heritage sites and themes. We will be finding out more about the Torbay Heritage Fund, which is open until January 17th, from the fund coordinator, and hearing from artist Claire-Jo Harmer about her Picturesque Torbay project she’s been enabled thanks to this fund.
Wide Open itself is inspired by the redevelopment of a heritage site of great importance for Paignton, the Picture House.
These gatherings are something that the creatives we’ve met have said they’d like more of. That could be to spark creative connections, to feel less isolated or to keep making brilliant things happen in Paignton! Whatever the reason, this get together is an opportunity for artists across all disciplines to come together.
Everyone is welcome whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience. Whether you're a film maker, musician, writer, visual artist, performer, or involved in any creative field, we’d love to see you there!
